While they were still away form the bus-stop they turned and saw their bus approaching.

Both of them ran clutching their belongings. One made it to the bus just as the bus started to move. The other person ran for awhile and gave up when the bus picked up speed.

From nowhere a policeman on his bike approached him and everybody expected that he will get bit of advice about not trying to catch a moving bus. However the policeman gestured him to sit on his bike. The man climbed on the bike and the policeman sped with him to catch the bus.

The bike caught up with the bus at the red signal. The cop stopped his bike in front of bus. Thanking profusely the pillion rider got down and joined his partner in the bus.

The cop with just a wave of hand took a u-turn and went ahead to his destination.

A "Marathi" cop showing this aspect of humanism during prevailing divisive social times indicates the strong fabric that binds us in general and Mumbai in particular.

What made this cop help a complete stranger?
